As part of our mission at nPlus1 we give several Architecture Summits events (known as ArcSummits) throughout the year. We hope that you'll be able to join us at one the ArcSummits if they occur near you, but if not, we are posting the materials from each one here for you to have access to.
SOLID Foundations
Originally given in Indianapolis on March 9th, 2010, this ArcSummit focuses on the SOLID Principles. As evangelized by Robert C. (Uncle Bob) Martin popularized the SOLID principles of object oriented development in articles and books. Today the flag is carried by numerous developers. You may have heard the principles mentioned in podcasts or read about them in blogs but what do they really mean? Are they really important to developing great software?
Most of the demonstrations and code are in .NET; however, as these principles are for Object Oriented development their concepts can be applied in most any object oriented language (.NET, Java, etc.).
